The Level 6 Diploma is a degree-level qualification for health and safety professionals wishing to progress their careers. Holders of the Level 6 Diploma can apply for graduate membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (Grad IOSH).
Diploma course has been designed by a team of experts from health and safety, and education. The focus is on practical health and safety management that can be applied in your workplace and intensive examination preparation.
UNIT1: Principles of Health & Safety Management

Unit 2A – Occupational Health
Unit 2B – Risks to Health at Work
UNIT3: Promoting a positive Health & Safety Culture in the workplace
Unit 3A – Developing a Positive Health and Safety Culture
Unit 3B – Developing the Business Case for Health and Safety Examination
The Level 6 Diploma comprises of three mandatory units each assessed individually via two written examinations and two workplace-based assignments.
Assessed by a 3-hours of written examination in two parts. Part A comprises one compulsory, stimulus-based question relating to a fictitious workplace and questions centred on risk management. Part B comprises eight compulsory short-answer questions.
Assessed by a 2½-hours of written examination and an assignment (5000 words) based on an occupational health hazard in the candidate’s workplace. The examination comprises ten compulsory short-answer questions.
Assessed by an assignment involving an assessment (10,000 words) of the health and safety culture in the candidate’s workplace, preparation of a strategy for improving that culture and a business case to support the strategy.
Successfully completing the International Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health leads to Graduate Membership of IOSH. This is the first step to becoming a Chartered Health and Safety Practitioner as a Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH)
